Indeed, the reality is usually bleaker than common perception. Because generally people prefer uplifting fantasies and dreams. That’s why Hollywood movies usually have a happy ending even when it seems illogical. They’ve actually done studies. Movies sell better when the audience leaves feeling happy in the last 15 minutes.

So in general, the articles that paints a more positive picture are received better. Reality bites, so its easier to sell a fairy tale.
