I think so. Facebook failed with Marketplace before, and it has always intended to introduce direct payment on WhatsApp since the day it acquired it. Ditto for Instagram.

Social media, e-commerce and digital currencies will become closely integrated as I see it in the future. Whoever conquers these will probably out size retail banks. Kinda of similar to Alipay in China right now with Ant Financial…
