Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. Indeed I am also very curious to hear what practising VCs think of my article. I'm not one, although I have, at times in the past, been an angel investor. The content was inspired from my recent experiences talking to them as a founder.
You also brought up a very good point about MedTech, which probably surfaces the issue that most VCs today, because of their own career or investment history, tend to apply common wisdom that applies to software and IT related startups. Peter Thiel himself observed that, for e.g., the Biotech industry faces very different dynamics from software, thus needing a different attitude and approach when it comes to building a business within it.
Anyways, I skipped all that in order not to make the article run too long, but it would be interesting to hear from founders and VCs in diverse specialties and industries on how they view the observations in my article vis-a-vis the current early stage investment evaluation approaches.
