Hi Peter,

Yes, indeed Microsoft had lofty aspirations for LinkedIn’s precious data. But execution is another story. With the bonuses of the top execs bonus to frequency of use rather than quality of engagement, it’s hard to say if that original M&A vision is still valid.

At the price tag of $27 billion, mostly in intangibles, it’s hard for MS to exit from LinkedIn; how they can make up for the hefty premium paid thru’ integration will be interesting to watch going forward.
