Thanks for your input. I’m not an engineer or coder by training so I’ll open up the field here for the techies to discuss the points you’ve made.

What I wrote was based on what I learned when I led a mobile app development team for a startup back in end 2015. A lot of things must have changed since. I know Android made a major leap in how they deal with background processes around the time I left the role to deal with the clogging up the ram.

So admittedly, the tech views here are still stuck at circa 2016 when I first wrote and published this article. Again, your input is much appreciated!
