You’ve brought up a good point. Perhaps data can become some sort of crypto currency. Like precious metals, they will have a traded commodity value as well as practical industrial usage.

On blockchain applications however, I am still skeptical on whether they are ready as yet for large scale implementations. I’m very impressed with the ingenuity of blockchain to be sure, but the use cases being proposed everywhere now are overly optimistic and almost frivolous.
