I can imagine that that’s why Facebook wanted to work with cryptocurrency exchanges; so that they can bypass traditional money exchange and remittance through banks. However, this will of course meet with much government and financial institution resistance.

That said, if there could a private market for converting in and out of Facebook coins, it could be, as you said, an incredible boost to e-commerce for places like the Caribbean where it is difficult for online sellers to transact now.

This is definitely something worth exploring…Please share with me more info!
