Couple of thoughts:

1. I don’t know about you, but I shut off notifications for most of my apps unless I need it. Like you said, spam! Plus it drains battery.
2. Yes. Native apps will survive, but yes, probably in another inclination. The line between when a native app is necessary and when it is not or become a lot clearer within the next few years!
