We are looking at a timeline of 3–5 years here even if things go south.

In any case LinkedIn is now just 5% of Microsoft’s revenue and their operating income was $35b last FY. MS also has so much cash reserves ($100b++) that they can afford to burn lotsa more on LinkedIn.
